I got this product to use with my Driving Force GT wheel - primarily for playing GT4 on my PS2. Having read all of the reviews while quite helpfull left me a bit concerned at first - but when my seat arrived and I hooked it up with the wheel I was very pleasantly surprised at what it offered!

I mostly use my console in the lounge on the main LCD TV and therefore dont have room (never mind the wish to spend the money) to install a proper racing seat or other larger mechanism. But I can definitely say that the Supido HD is GREAT for my setup as it allows me to sit comfortably in my armchair and be able to use the wheel in a good and relatively stable "driving position". Then, after I get the "need for speed" out of my system for a period, be able to pack the whole lot away out of sight so the room can quickly look like I was never there! It is very portable and handy.

I would agree the structure itself is a bit wobbly - you have to hold the wheel with both hands at all times - ie one handed driving is almost impossible when turning tight bends - and if you have to make any sudden hard turn it doesnt offer much resistance to lateral movement, so that takes a bit of getting used to.
However, this is because the platform that takes the wheel is held up vertically on a single strut, and that is simply a limitation of the design. The material is actually a very strong composite plastic and I never felt like it was weak, or any part of the frame was likely to snap - the frame itself and the platform feel quite solid overall. It seems to handle the force feedback well and also transfers the vibrations quite effectively to the user. It also works well in an armchair, because you can get comfortable and position your controls in a way that gets closer to feeling like you are sitting in a real motor than many other solutions available for your living room!

In my opinion the main benefit of this wheel is that for a relatively small cost (compared to the albeit generally more stable alternatives) this offers a very useable and aesthetically pleasing solution for supporting your steering wheel and getting you on the road quickly and painlessly. If you can afford a decent wheel then I would guess you could afford the extra 25 quid for one of these to save you having to commandeer the coffee table and sit haunched over while burning around the Nurburgring - you can be sure also that any decent wheel is not going to be usable at all balanced on your lap.

I give this 4 stars overall not because its near the ultimate solution in console racing seat products, but basically because I feel the cost/benefit ratio is very high.

My wife bought me the Logitech DriveFX Racing Wheel for my birthday, while its an awesome steering wheel I had no decent way of positioning to make my gaming experience enjoyable.

I looked into how to resolve this and came across this product. Its brilliant, very stable and well made from thick, durable but light weight plastic. It offers a very stable base for the wheel to clamp onto and has multiple angles to suit every gamer.

Very glad I invested in this piece of kit!
