3 out of 5 stars Take That Fritz...!   June 28, 2005

Now I am a reasonable man, and I like the MOH series as much as the next guy, but when I peeked at the reviews: 'Mediocre', Not as good' and 'I haven't had a girlfriend' I was a bit bemused to say the least.

After an hour or so traipsing through the missions I have to admit MOH:EA isn't very good, it has evolved, not for the good of the game or series but to keep up with Call of Duty, a game which I think is decidedly middle of the road.

The bad points outway the good points in what could have been a classic game.

Good Points:

Some graphics are top notch
Authentic WW2 weaponry & machinery
Involved in real battles of the era
Great storyline

Bad Points:

Some graphics are blocky ie Panzer tank and Thompson machine gun
No hakenkreuz (Imperial German markings though), taking away the authenticity of the game
All the Brits sound like Brian Blessed
Gameplay is slow and sluggish
Some missions are way too short
Too much time to load/pause the game

I could go on, but it would take the shine off the franchise.

Personally I still prefer MOH:AA & MOH:RS and the p.c. versions have still got good playability even with the add ons, where sadly this one lacks depth.

I was expecting comments from Boys Own/Commando comics such as 'Hande Hoch!', 'For you ze var ist over' and 'Take that Fritz' and maybe a guest appearance by German International Recording Artist 1980-2005 David Hasselhoff just to round off the lack of inspiration EA might have had with this release.

C'mon EA, get your act together as I hope the new James Bond isn't like this.

MOH: EA is a lot like Terminator 3, very well hyped, no doubt it will be bought in bucketloads, but it fails to deliver when it needs it most and it will leave a few with a bad taste in their mouth, look out for my copy on ebay in the next few weeks.

5 out of 5 stars Highly recomended   July 28, 2005

The best FPS (First Person Shooter) this year far better than call Call of Duty and the previous two in the series.

The graphics are very good especially the movies which are historically entertaining and informative.

Gameplay is great, you now need to think before you act due to the advance AI and realistic damage gauges.

Highly recomended for everyone... except Germans.
